Tasting Notes:
Bright blackberry, strawberry, plum, rhubarb, candied apple. Good acidity with tart berry and cinnamon finish.
The Grapes:
Carignane and Cinsaut are the varietals that make up this blend. They come from the same vineyards that produce the 100% varietal Carignane and Cinsaut.
The Vineyards:
Cinsaut comes from bench land grown vines above the Dry Creek Valley in Sonoma County. These vines are 45 years old and dry farmed.
Carignane is from Feliz Creek to the west of Hopland in Mendocino County. This is a low yield vineyard with vines over 100 years old and dry farmed.
The Wine:
Here is an blend of two very complimentary Rhone grape varieties. Aged 23 months in small neutral oak barrels. Unfined/ unfiltered. Only 90 cases made. C2 ages gracefully, drink now to 2017.

leg of lamb sandwich, french onion soup, salmon, baked root vegetables, turkey, chile verde, baked beans, curries, grilled skirt steak, fresh apple with sharp cheddar cheese at room temperature. |
