Tasting Notes:
Light salmon pink. Aromas of strawberry carry through to the flavor with added
cherry, plum and spice. Off dry, yet crisp finish.
Grape:
A rare delicious Rhone variety. This wine is 100
% Cinsaut, 100% grown in the Dry Creek Valley, Sonoma County.
Vineyard:
On a high, dry, western bench of Dry Creek Valley, the head pruned
Cinsaut vines grow in a medium red, dusty clay soil. Covering
only 2 acres, the old vines yield a small amount of this fragrant,
fruity grape for Frick Cinsaut. The vines are about 40 years old.
The Wine:
Light strawberry and red cherry fruit character, spice on the finish.
Cinsaut makes a pleasant rose because of it has light tannins and
forward fruit. The
wine is fun and perfect for summer fare. The complexity and abundance of fruit
is the wonderful character of the wine. Drink now to 2010.
Only 70 cases made.
Serve with:
fresh strawberries
and teleme cheese, chicken, clam bake, grilled summer squash, hummus,
grilled salmon, oysters. Mediterranean French, Italian Cuisine and
Moroccan cuisine.
