$26.00 per bottle (only $23.40) when you buy a case or more)
SOLD OUT

Tasting Notes:
Brilliant light purple color in the glass. Round aromas of strawberry, cherry and boysenberry. Full flavors reminiscent of blueberry, cherry, cranberry and plum.  Spicy earthy finish.

The Grape:
Pronounced coon-wahz. Counoise is an obscure Rhone variety similar to Cinsaut with soft tannins and round fruit flavors. It is an important ingredient of some Rhone wines from Chateaneuf-du-Pape.

The Vineyard:
This wine comes exclusively from Frick's Estate Owl Hill Vineyard, on the southeast-facing hillsides near the winery.  This tiny vineyard grows in rock, gravel and clay from decomposed Dry Creek Conglomerate soil.  In this soil the vines have very low vigor and they produce a limited amounts of grapes with distinctive, full, rich and classic varietal character.

The Wine:
100% Counoise, Estate grown. Spent 22 months in neutral oak barrels. Unfined.  Delicious soft fruit character.  Only 70 cases made.  Drink now to 2012.

Serve with:
Tuna tartar, BBQ chicken thighs, grilled eggplant salad, buffala mozzarella with tomatoes and basil, duck confit, fresh goat cheese spread on crispy bread, mushroom lasagna.
