Tasting Notes:
Purple, blue color in the glass. Round fruity aromas include strawberry,
cherry and raspberry. Full flavors reminiscent of black currant
and cherry. Rich cherry cola like component. Full lingering finish.
The Grape:
Grenache aka Grenache Noir is the primary red grape from the Rhone’s
Chateaneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas. It is also found in Spain (Grenacha)
and Italy (Cannonau).
The Vineyard:
This wine comes from a 2 acre terraced section of Conley Vineyard
that is high on the hill above the Frick tasting room. This vineyard
was carved out of a dry cliff side. Vines are widely spaced and naturally
low yield.
The Wine:
Fruit forward with cherry and raspberry and black currant. Classic.
96% Grenache with 4% Syrah. Aged 22 months in neutral oak barrels.
Unfined. Delicious soft fruit character. Only 125 cases made.
