Tasting Notes:
Golden straw color in your glass. Full aromas of flowers, melon,
papaya, pear and honey. Full flavors reminiscent of mango, meyer lemon,
melon and pear. Crisp lingering flavors. Very complex, with many layers
of complimentary fruits and flower. Crisp, yet lingering, finish.
The Grape:
This wine is 100% Grenache Blanc. The grape is been best known in the whites
from Chateauneuf du Pape.
The Vineyard:
This wine comes exclusively from Frick's
Estate Owl Hill Vineyard, on the southeast-facing hillsides near
the winery. This tiny vineyard grows in rock, gravel and clay
from decomposed Dry Creek Conglomerate soil. In this soil the
vines have very low vigor and they produce a limited crop with distinctive,
full, rich and classic Grenache Blanc character.
The Wine:
Delicious. Aromas burst
from the glass with exotic fruit and floral components. The
flavors are mouth filling and complex. This is a memorable white
wine that will keep you interested through the meal. Unfined;
the wine may precipitate some harmless tartaric flakes with prolonged
refrigeration.
Serve with:
raw oysters, lobster,
fish, mussels, clams, fruit salad, pasta salad and spicy Asian dishes
from India, Vietnam, Thailand and China. Drink now to 2011.
Only
120 cases made.
