Tasting Notes:
Full aromas of tartan cherry, currant and cedar. Cherry, blackberry,
cocoa flavors. Plump tannic finish, like a Cabernet Sauvignon. Long and lingering in the
mouth.
Grape:
This is 100% merlot. One of the noble grapes from Bordeaux.
The Vineyard:
Conley is located here on Walling Road. South facing hillsides provide
wonderful exposure. Planted 22 years ago to make Frick Merlot, exclusively. Steep hillsides,
low yield.
The Wine:
Dirinks like a meritage, although 100% Merlot. The wine is released later
for this reason. strawberry and red cherry fruit Drink now to 2016.
Only 200 cases
made.
Serve with:
hamburgers, prime riib roast, lentil soup, macaroni and cheese, marinated
