Tasting Notes:
Dark rich fruit and flowers. Lively cherry, plum, orange, rose. Spice and
long lingering soft tannins
The Wine:
Inspired by Cote Rotie. A reserved noble grape, syrah is a sophisticated
table wine.
Only 323 cases made. Drink now to 2014.
Serve with:
cranberries, goat cheese, any
wild game (venison, moose, elk), bbq pork, lamb shank, wild mushrooms,
minty lamb with couscous, lamb vindaloo, grilled skirt steak.
The Vineyard:
It is Owl Hill Vineyard. The water tower in the vineyard is home
to barn owls who patrol the syarh vines. These vines are the closest
to the winery. Production is low, 2 tons per acre.
